Online Learning Institute: Creating a Culture of Physical Activity in Your Context – A CSPAP Working Session
March 31, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Event Navigation
A Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) is a key framework for schools that ensures that students are reaching the nationally recommended 60 minutes of physical activity every day. However, at first glance, implementing a CSPAP may feel overwhelming and like an additional item on a school’s immense “to-do” list. Participants will consider the national landscape around CSPAP implementation and perceptions on physical education and physical activity in schools. From there, Springboard to Active Schools will work with participants to reimagine a CSPAP that fits their context and is actionable within their sphere of influence.
This Online Learning Institute is a good fit for school health leaders at the state, district, or school level who are interested in identifying practical and actionable strategies to create or further a culture of physical activity in schools.
Objectives:
Describe a Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program and the national landscape and perceptions around CSPAP.
Articulate facilitators and barriers to promoting a culture of physical activity through a CSPAP in my context.
Identify 1-2 action steps for creating or furthering a culture of physical activity through a CSPAP in my context.
